Create, change, and delete a project

Last updated

You create a project on the workspace home. After creating it, you change its name, alias, and description on the project’s Settings screen. You also delete a project you no longer need from the same screen.

Owner, Maintainer, and Writer can create and delete a project. Only Owner and Maintainer can change a project’s name, alias, and description. Reader can view the project list and its settings.

Adds one project to the workspace.

  1. On the workspace home, click New Project.
  2. Enter the Project name. When you enter it with alphanumeric characters, a string based on the Project name is filled into Project alias automatically. In the string filled into Project alias, spaces become hyphens and uppercase letters become lowercase.
  3. Check the Project alias. When the field has no value, or when an error is shown, enter the alias yourself. The rules for an alias are in Project.
  4. Under Project visibility, choose Public or Private. Private can be chosen only in a workspace on a paid plan. On the Open & Public plan, Private cannot be chosen.
  5. In Project description, enter what this project covers. This is optional.
  6. Under Project license, choose a license from the templates. This is optional. The steps for setting one later are in Set a license.
  7. Click OK.
  1. From the project list on the workspace home, choose the project whose settings you want to change.
  2. Open the project’s Settings screen.
  3. Change Name, Alias, and Description under General.
  4. Click Save Changes.
  1. On the project’s Settings screen, open Danger Zone.
  2. Click Delete project.
  3. Check that the name shown on the confirmation screen is the same as the name of the project you are deleting.
  4. On the confirmation screen, click Delete project.
