Create, edit, and delete an item

You create, edit, and delete items on the Content screen. When you choose a model under Models on Content, that model’s items are lined up in a table. This table is called the item list.

The input fields for entering an item’s values are the fields defined in that model’s schema. You edit the input fields by following the steps in Add, edit, and delete a field.

Create an item

Adds one item to a model.

Owner, Maintainer, and Writer can create items. Reader can view items.

1. Under Models on Content, choose the target model.
2. Click New Item. The input screen opens.
3. Enter values in the input fields. Save cannot be clicked while a required field is left empty.
4. When the model has metadata fields, enter the values under Meta Data at the right of the input screen.
5. Click Save.

Once saved, the item keeps the values you entered, and its status becomes Draft.

Edit an item

Rewrites the values of a saved item.

Items can be edited by Owner and Maintainer, and by Writer for the items they created themselves.

1. In the list on the Content screen, click the edit icon in the row of the item you are editing. The input screen opens.
2. Rewrite the values on the input screen.
3. Click Save.

Every time you save, the item’s field values, status, and the date and time are recorded as a version. The steps for viewing past versions are in Check and restore a past version.

Metadata fields can be rewritten directly inside the list’s table. What you rewrite is saved without clicking Save. Writer can rewrite directly only the metadata of the items they created themselves.

Delete an item

Deletion cannot be undone

Clicking Delete deletes the item without bringing up a confirmation screen. A deleted item cannot be restored, and references to that item from other items are cleared as well.

Items can be deleted by Owner and Maintainer, and by Writer for the items they created themselves.

1. In the list on the Content screen, check the checkbox in the row of the item you are deleting. You can select more than one item.
2. Click Delete.

When the selection includes an item created by another user, Delete cannot be clicked.
